Softball

The Softball Academy is a skills based program specialising in high performance training and skill development.  In addition, the program is designed to prepare each athlete for life long involvement in the sport.  Skill development sessions take place at Mount Pleasant Park's Kaplan Field, Martin Academy's Indoor Training Facility and the AffinityPlex.  We also make the effort to visit many of Regina's training facilities to experience all the city has to offer.

Softball Academy 2021

Athlete development is built into the school day under the guidance of experienced and qualified sport and fitness instructors.  In addition, students have the potential to experience a fall games schedule (Regina Fall Ball) and travel ball experiences as they proceed through their high school journey.  In recent years, our athletes have attended training camps in British Columbia, Arizona, Minot, and participated in Triple Crown City of Lights Showcase in Nevada and Training camps at University of North Dakota.  These experiences provide our students with opportunities to train or compete at a high level and experience the educational benefits of travel, cultural exposure and autonomous learning.

The Softball program is designed to be a complement to the programs offered in our province.  As a full year and four year high school program Martin Academy's Fastpitch program is the first of its kind in Western Canada. Program teachers and instructors are former National Team athletes and Advanced Coaching Diploma trained coaches.  Graduates of the program are student athletes who love the sport of softball are pursuing academic excellence and long term participation in sports, wellness and fitness.

Students are grouped based on grade level to ensure we meet and exceed curriculum outcomes.  Those who aspire to play college softball receive the necessary support from our Academy instructors.  We take pride in educating students and their families about college opportunities for their child.  Our alumni list of college athletes expands each year.  As students' progress through the program, the experiences on and off the field will develop young women committed to serving the sport community.
